Academia’s Certificate III in Individual Support will enable you to work in residential aged care facilities or community settings such as home care, to provide assistance and care to the elderly.
Through theoretical learning and aged care training in Melbourne or Brisbane, you will learn to maintain personal care and implement activities for those living in an aged care or community setting.
The Certificate III in Individual Support is delivered face-to-face, through a combination of tutorials, workshops, and practical training in our simulated environment by our highly qualified training staff.
Our simulated environment consists of equipment and machinery that students will be required to operate within the industry. You will be assessed through written tests, assignments and work placement.
Students will be able to put into practice the skills that they have learnt in the classroom through placement at a registered aged care facility.
Work placement is organised for you at one of Academia’s industry partners. This allows our students to put into practice the skills they have learnt through tutorials and workshops.
Academia has a strong industry connections; currently, we are partnered with more than 20 Aged Care facilities in Melbourne & Brisbane.
The Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) includes 120 hours of work placement.
Work placement can improve your job opportunities and prospects, and may even lead to a job offer from your placement facility. Work placement makes you an attractive, well-rounded candidate for job opportunities, as employers look for candidates with both theoretical and practical learning experience.
